James Mitchell, who for nearly three decades played gruff patriarch Palmer Cortland on the ABC soap opera “All My Children,” has died, his longtime partner said Sunday night.

Mitchell died Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, partner Albert Wolsky said. Mitchell had suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for years, complicated by a recent bout of pneumonia.

Mitchell appeared in more than 300 episodes of the popular soap from 1979 until a 40th anniversary episode this month. He was a regular on the show until 2008.

Wal-Mart cuts 11,200 jobs at Sam’s Club …And i just got a job

January 25th, 2010 peterpopoff No comments

Sam’s Club, the warehouse club division of Wal-Mart Stores Inc is cutting roughly 11,200 jobs, or about 10 percent of its workforce, as it outsources in-store product demonstrations and eliminates positions used to recruit new business members.
Sam’s Club Chief Executive Officer Brian Cornell said on Sunday that the retailer would outline charges associated with the job cuts in February, when it releases fourth-quarter results. He said he did not expect any “material impact” on its financial results.
“We look at this as an investment in the in-club experience,” Cornell said in an interview. “This is not a cost-cutting move for us in the short term. We really hope it will be cost neutral for our operation. It’s an investment in building loyalty, enhancing the member experience and driving future growth.” Cornell took the helm at Sam’s Club on April 3 last year and has been looking for ways to boost its sales and increase its membership ranks. Members pay an annual fee to shop in its clubs and get discounts on everything from bulk-sized packages of toilet paper to raspberries.
Sam’s Club said it will use Shopper Events, a third-party company, instead of its own employees to run in-store product demonstrations and hand out food samples — a popular tactic used by warehouse clubs to entice shoppers to buy new items.
In a memo to employees, Cornell said Shopper Events will develop a demo program, called “Tastes and Tips”, that will offer improved demonstration of items like food, beverages and electronics. The shift means Sam’s Club will cut 10,000 jobs primarily held by part-time workers. Current Sam’s Club demo employees can apply for new jobs with Shopper Events.
Brian Pear, general manager for Shopper Events, said his company would hire about the same number of employees being let go by Sam’s Club. But he said there was no guarantee it would hire former Sam’s Club employees to fill the positions.
Cornell and Pear declined to disclose terms of the deal.
Sam’s Club, the No. 2 U.S. warehouse club operator behind Costco Wholesale Corp, also said it was cutting the new business membership representative position, or employees in its stores who focused on recruiting new members. That will result in the loss of about 1,200 jobs, or about two jobs per every location.
Sam’s Club said it was having more success recruiting members through direct marketing or doing price comparisons, where it shows consumers how much money they could save by shopping in its clubs.
Craig Johnson, president of consulting firm Customer Growth Partners, said it made sense for Cornell to announce such extensive job cuts early on in his tenure.
“If you need to take a hit to get your cost structure down, you want to do that sooner versus later,” he said. “Given that it’s the end of the fiscal year, now is probably the best time to take the hit.”
Wal-Mart’s fiscal year ends on January 31.
While Sam’s Club said the move was not a cost cutting one, Johnson said companies like Shopper Events, which specialize in in-store sampling, can typically deliver those types of services less expensively than a retailer can.
The latest job cuts come after Sam’s Club said earlier this month that 1,500 jobs would be lost as it closed 10 money-losing stores. At Wal-Mart’s meeting for analysts in October, Cornell said that Sam’s Club was shifting its focus from opening new clubs to remodeling existing ones as it works to increase sales.
He said then that the retailer was testing a new store layout, adding more food and drugs to its shelves, and streamlining operations to reduce labor hours in its clubs by 6 percent to 8 percent over the next five years.
Sam’s Club operates some 600 clubs and has about 110,000 employees.
Wal-Mart shares closed on Friday up 2 cents at $52.94.

Get your own black kid

When the Bakers and their newest children finally arrived home to hugs this week, it was the end of a surreal journey for Thamar, Davidson, and Lili – three of the lucky orphans airlifted from the earthquake who are now about to start a new life, on solid ground and in soft beds, reports CBS News correspondent Cynthia Bowers.

Even though Haiti is a world away, Nat and Kris Baker have devoted years to the poor island nation.

“Every time we travel to Haiti we see kids on the street hungry and hurting and scared,” Nat Baker said. “That breaks my heart. Every child deserves a chance.”

Capture

Marion Barber capped an 8-minute, 13-play drive at the start of the third quarter with a 2-yard touchdown run, his second score of the game, and the Cowboys continued to hold the NFL’s No. 1 offense out of the end zone.

Dallas faced a third-and-5 at the beginning of its first second-half possession, but Tony Romo scrambled and found Miles Austin for a 13-yard gain. Third-string wide receiver Kevin Ogletree dragged his feet along the sideline to haul in a 17-yard catch three plays later, and the Saints offered little resistance the rest of the way.

New Orleans had a chance to cut into the deficit after Courtney Roby’s 67-yard kickoff return, but Devery Henderson dropped a long pass in the end zone. Anthony Spencer then raced in untouched and sacked Drew Brees to stop the drive.

Romo threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Miles Austin, and Barber scored from 3 yards as the Cowboys took a quick 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Nick Folk added a 44-yard field goal three seconds before halftime.

Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware, who did not practice all week after suffering a neck sprain that sent him to the hospital six days earlier against the San Diego Chargers, forced a Brees fumble on a sack late in the first half, leading to Folk’s field goal.

The Saints lost running back Reggie Bush to an apparent right leg injury in the second quarter. Bush caught a pass in the middle of the field, pulled up, hobbled to the sideline and headed straight to the bench. He did not return in the third quarter.

The Saints got on the board when Brees led a 12-play 75-yard drive, completing a 35-yard pass to Marques Colston to the Cowboys 17. The Saints stalled from there, setting up Garrett Hartley’s 34-yard field goal that cut the lead to 14-3.

After holding the Saints to a three-and-out on the opening possession, the Cowboys struck first when Romo hit Austin deep down the sideline. Austin beat rookie cornerback Malcolm Jenkins on a stop and go pattern, and safety Roman Harper could not get over in time to prevent the touchdown.

With the catch, Austin went over 1,000 yards for the first time in his career. He had 999 yards entering the game.

Thewent three-and-out again, and Patrick Crayton returned a punt 28 yards to set up an eight-play, 60-yard touchdown drive. The big strike was a 26-yard Austin catch-and-run to the New Orleans 15. Tashard Choice converted a third down with a 4-yard run out of the wildcat formation before Barber dove across the goal line for a 3-yard score.

The Cowboys have lost their past two games and are 3-7 in December under coach Wade Phillips, but everything went right in the first three quarters.

Romo was 22 for 34 for 312 yards.

Brees was 29 for 45 for 298 yards. Highlights

Top 5 richest cum snatchers

jenna jamesonjenna jam

Jenna Jameson, the world’s most famous porn star, has done a far better job of exploiting herself than any sleazy peddler could hope to do. Since 1993 the onetime blonde (now brunette)bombshell has starred in 50-odd adult movies, selling millions of copies worldwide. Today thousands of members pay $35 a month for access to her Web site, ClubJenna.com, where they can linger over nude pictures of her, download her racy movies and read her lurid diary. Her fans can rent her digital moan as the ringer on their cell phones and buy Jenna sex toys, action figures–and even a piece of herself, molded in soft plastic, anatomically accurate and priced to move at $200.

Her holding company, ClubJenna, will hit revenues of $30 million this year, up 30% in a year; the profits may approach half of that. She owns and operates ClubJenna with her husband, Jay G. Grdina, a producer or director of 900 adult films. “This has developed from an individual star into a porn conglomerate,” he says. “Her brand has been developed with the reputation of being the best, and now we are capitalizing on that and monetizing the name.” They hope to move into Jenna-branded strip clubs, cosmetics, an apparel line and bejeweled sex toys.

AVN+Awards+Mandalay+Bay+Arrivals+DiIT64gQD_glJenna Haze

Haze began her career performing with her then agent and his best friend in a movie called The Oral Adventures of Craven Moorehead 8. Though she had yet to watch the first 7 installments of the series, she quickly adapted to the complex story line. From there her star rose, along with…other things, and she began starring in her own movies. The pinnacle of her career occurred when she created her own production company, “Jenna Haze Darkside.” To date, she’s won over 10 Adult Video News awards. Jenna also starred in Operation: Desert Stormy, which as of September 2007 is Wicked Pictures’s most expensive production.

She is of Spanish, German & Irish descent.

Production Company

In 2009 Jenna Haze launched her own production company, Jennaration X Studios, headed by Haze and distributed through Jules Jordan Video. Haze is directing and performing in her production films. Jennaration X’s debut film, Cum-Spoiled Sluts, released March 23, 2009, followed by Anal Academics released July 6, 2009.

Bella_donna_03_01_697Belladonna

In her first porn, REAL SEX MAGAZINE 31, she made her debut with an anal scene, in NO LIMITS by Sineplex she shoved a baseball-bat up her ass and in John Stagliano’s masterpiece THE FASHIONISTAS she excelled in the leading role as “Jessie”. So even if you have only the slightest interest in pornography of the 21st century, there’s no way around her. Who are we talking about? Belladonna, first porn-cult-queen of the new millenium.

To date, Belladonna has appeared in over 250 adult films. She now owns and operates Belladonna Entertainment with her partner and husband, Aiden Kelly. She produces her own movies under the Belladonna Entertainment and Deadly Nightshade Productions labels, exclusively distributed by Evil Angel.

112760569_8709767213Boo Dilicious

Boo Dilicious made her hardcore debut in December, 2002, and she didn’t waste any time easing her way in, either. She jumped straight into the delirious deep end, proving from the start that she was a sexual hellcat to be reckoned with. Boo Dilicious made a big splash with one of her very first flicks, the controversial hit ‘Shane’s World 32: Campus Invasion.’ Using the name Evelyn, Boo Dilicious romped her way across a college campus, taking on a couple of lusty locals in a series of blistering set pieces.

She is probably best known for her shoot at www.spunkmouth.com, which was arranged by none other than fellow porn starlett Belladonna. The shoot was ranked spunkmouth.com’s best ever by porn director and photographer Billy Watson.

She has appeared in over 50 films according to the IAFD, the last of which was filmed in 2006.

chloe_squat72Chloe

Chloe was born in Thousand Oaks, California. She is of Italian and Irish descent and was raised Catholic. She is the sister of fellow porn/bondage actress Cleo Nicole (both appear in the film I Came, Did You?!! (2000)). She has described herself as having been an over-imaginative child, with more imaginary friends than real ones. She practiced classical ballet from age 6 into her teenage years and dreamed of becoming a professional ballerina. She quit at age 17 due to developing arthritis in her hips and to feeling exhausted.

When she was eleven, an accident on the monkey bars damaged her clitoris. The vaginal area was reconstructed but she accidentally tore out some of the stitches in ballet class a few weeks later. In her words, her clitoris is “always hard but I don’t feel anything”. However, she is still able to orgasm through stimulation of her g-spot, which often involves inserting large, wide objects into her vagina, and she has stated “the deeper the better”. Obvious evidence of her ability to still climax can be observed in her famous double-fisting scene with fellow porno actress Alisha Klass in Seymore Butts’ controversial video Tampa Tushy Fest 1.

She has a few adult novelty toy lines which she endorses. The most noted is a toy called, The Fist of Fury. It was molded from Chloe’s closed fist and forearm, due to her numerous popular fisting videos.
In 2003 Chloe hosted the 20th Annual Adult Video News (AVN) AVN Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada. A multiple AVN Award winner herself, she has also appeared in several cable movies and specials on MTV, VH-1, and Showtime. She has a filmography of over 400 movies.

$ 45,000 a year Digging in the trash !

December 8th, 2009 peterpopoff No comments

I was doing some research … I know I know … sometimes i get lazy but if this job came with benefits i would do it.
For the past 10 years, Jesus Leonardo has been cleaning up at an OTB parlor in Midtown Manhattan, cashing in, by his own count, nearly half a million dollars’ worth of winning tickets from wagers on thoroughbred races across the country.
“He’s a legend,” said Paul Pepad, 57, an out-of-work musician who lives in Manhattan. “Everyone knows that this is his turf, that all the tickets thrown out belong to him, period. It’s just been that way as long as I can remember.”
Here’s what Leonardo does: He takes the thousands of betting slips that get thrown into the garbage at the OTB every day and feeds them into the automated ticket machine, which scans tickets to see if they’ve won or lost. It turns out that every day dozens of people mistakenly think they lost a bet that they actually won and throw their tickets away, and so Leonardo gets the money from those winning tickets.
Here goes his ugly mug:
